Somerset Chiropractor Benjamin Gait DC BSc MChiro (Ben) grew up near Shepton Mallet. He was inspired to change careers after witnessing the powerful impact that an adjustment had on his baby’s health and the ripple effect (joy, relief, and harmony) that had on family life. Ben already had a degree in Psychology. He enrolled at the Anglo European College of Chiropractic and graduated with merit back in 2009.
As a keen runner Ben is a member of Somer AC and the core team of volunteers that established and organises the Shpton Mallet parkrun.
"If you have problems when you do something as natural as walking or running doesn't that suggest you need to get checked? –just like you might service a car! Then life can be lived at 100%. It can be frustrating to hear others complaining about their repeat injuries and painful treatments. I have to bite my lip sometimes with fellow runners when I am thinking I could so easily help them. Afferent Input techniques combined with Chiropractic are an effective paradigm that is so obvious and really quite simple when you know how! Ultimately its about working with the body to restore natural function - not hammering the heck out of muscles again and again "
Ben is happily married to Vicki. They have 3 children. He worked as a Chiropractor in Clevedon, Somerset, before establishing Mendip Chiropractic in 2011 for the people of Shepton Mallet which, until then had only an Osteopath and GP’s.
Since then Ben has grown the practice and invested hundreds of hours of post graduate training including: Paediatrics & pregnancy care, Webster Technique, disc pain and sciatica management, sacral occipital technique (SOT), proprioceptive and afferent input muscle testing, managing arthritic hips and knees, Chiropractic management of the runner.
Ben is registered with the General Chiropractic Council, and is a member of the United Chiropractic Association and the Association of Afferent Input Practitioners.
