Chiropractor and Afferent Input Practitioner
Ben grew up near Shepton Mallet. He was inspired to change his career after witnessing the powerful impact of an adjustment on his baby’s health and the positive ripple that spread through family life. Ben already had a degree in Psychology. He enrolled at the Anglo European College of Chiropractic, graduating with merit in 2009. Ben is a keen runner: A member of Somer AC and founding member of the core team at Shepton Mallet parkrun
"If you have a problem when you do something as natural as walking or running doesn't that suggest you need to get checked? Better still avoid the problem by getting checked preventatively. We service our cars to maintain performance, but few approach their own physical health this way. My goal is that everyone gets occasional preventative care to reduce the impact of pain on their lives and NHS. This should not remain the realm of elite athletes".
"I love the Afferent Input muscle testing approach because this is an effective way to screen body function. Problems that are identified can then be corrected using chiropractic techniques to keep people well."
Ben is happily married with 3 children. He established Mendip Chiropractic in 2011 after realising that Shepton Mallet, until then had only an Osteopath and GP’s.
Hundreds of hours of post-graduate training include paediatrics & pregnancy care, Webster Technique, disc pain and sciatica management, sacral occipital technique (SOT), proprioceptive and afferent input muscle testing, managing arthritic hips and knees, Chiropractic management of the runner, balance, and fall prevention, etc.
Ben is registered with the General Chiropractic Council, and is a member of the United Chiropractic Association and the Association of Afferent Input Practitioners.
